Beaver Dam Baptist Church provides biblical pastoral counseling to members of our church and the community. If you would like to contact a member of the church staff about counseling, please call the church office at 865-922-2322. Click here for the bios of some of our BDBC members who provide counseling.
Fall session will begin on August 23rd at 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. These sessions will meet behind the Chapel in room A106. The workbook cost is $15.00.
This group helps individuals face the challenges of divorce and move toward rebuilding their lives. Each DivorceCare session has two distinct elements:
A Seminar with Experts
During the first 30–40 minutes of the meeting, each DivorceCare group watches a video seminar featuring top experts on divorce and recovery subjects. These videos are produced in an interesting-to-watch television magazine format featuring expert interviews, real-life case studies and on-location video.
A Support Group with Focus
After viewing the video, DivorceCare group participants spend time as a support group, discussing what was presented in that week’s video seminar and what is going on in the lives of group members.
There are many provisions within the tax code each year that allow you to maximize your tax efficiency. Are you maximizing your gifts in a tax efficient manner? Michael Jenkins, Financial Adviser, will be available to answer your questions and discuss any thoughts you have. Schedule appointments through the Education Office.
BDBC members may contact the church office to schedule an appointment on the second Wednesday evening of the month to receive free legal advice from a licensed attorney to help them make informed legal decisions.
I Peter 4:10-11 Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. . .
The purpose of Martha's Ministry is to provide a meal for a church member in the event of a death in their immediate family (spouse, child). The ladies of Martha's Ministry will prepare and serve a complete meal for the bereaved family and their guests, before the receiving of friends or before or after the burial. The meal can be served in the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Fellowship Hall or taken to the home.
This ministry is not intended to take the place of individuals providing food for the family at other times during the bereavement period. It is, instead, to enhance what is already being done by individual members and by Sunday School classes.
The menu for Martha's Ministry meal is fixed. The church provides a meat and drinks, and team members who work outside the home are assigned a specific vegetable, salad, rolls or dessert to finish out the meal. Other team members help by setting tables, warming and serving the meal, and cleaning up.
The ladies of Martha's Ministry desire to be able to provide this service to every family who experiences the loss of a loved one. However, it may not be possible to provide a meal during the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day because volunteers may not be available at those times. The co-chair and team captain will determine whether or not volunteers can be enlisted. Also, a previously scheduled church wide event would preclude the use of the facilities.
All ladies of Beaver Dam Baptist Church are encouraged to be active participants in Martha's Ministry. Everyone involved in the ministry is blessed as we reach out in love and kindness to those who are hurting.
Please call Janice in the Education Office (925-9336) to sign up to help with this ministry.
Lord, give me the sensitivity to people in their grief and pain, To weep with them and show. Your love in ways mere words cannot attain.
The men’s ministry at Beaver Dam, called MAN-UP is a group designed to build community among the men of this church. It is designed to allow men a chance to enjoy fellowship with one another using several different avenues to make that happen. Whether that be an event on campus, a fishing or hiking trip, or getting together to eat at a local restaurant, everything this ministry does is designed to build community, build friendships and encourage our men to invite co-workers and neighbors and get other men involved. Please check back here and you will see what upcoming events we have going on. If you have any questions about MAN-UP, or want to know about how to get involved, please contact Ryan Flint @865-922-2322.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14 Be alert, stand firm in the faith, act like a man, be strong. Your every action must be done with love.
We had a great turnout at our inaugural ManUp Men’s ministry event! Nearly 90 men attended a pancake breakfast and expressed an interest in taking part in other activities with men in our church. Some of the events will be hiking/camping, hunting/fishing, service projects, golf, basketball leagues, and car shows. If you didn’t get to join us and have not signed up for activities of interest, fear not; there will be other opportunities to get involved. Please check back here and check the bulletin and monthly newsletter to stay in the know as to when these events take place.
If you have any questions in the meantime or want to add your name on the list of one of the activities listed above, please email me at
Thanks for coming, looking forward to what lies ahead for the Men’s Ministry of Beaver Dam!
